Der Tintenfisch, or, "The Octopus" was a study in bright color, shape, and negative space. It is by far my brightest painting and was fun and challenging to paint. An early work, this piece let me really begin to stretch my legs as an artist and become more comfortable tackling different ideas and subject matter.
